The Ridge™
We call it “the Ridge”—it’s how we got our name. Gone are the days of awkwardly holding a joist while trying to drive a screw into the transition template. The Ridge™ makes it easy to know what type of joist you need, provides a ledge that properly orientates the angle and height, and provides much better structural support to your ramps for years to come. On top of that, every hole on your kit is pre-drilled, making assembly fast and easy.
Joist Size
Contractors cutting corners has become a stereotype for a reason. After years of building custom installs, we’ve learned that often 2x4s simply don’t cut it. After all, you’re building a structure for the express purpose of jumping all over it! It’s simple math, 2x6s are 33% stronger, and have an extra screw on each end of the template to pin it in place. This reduces wrapping, sag, and compression.
Joist Span
For any ramp over 30” tall, we won’t sell a kit that has 8’ spans without providing an additional engineered support template. This keeps the coping reveal—how much the coping is exposed on the ramp surface—consistent so that it rides the way you’d expect, every time. Most kit companies sell kits with several lengths of joists as well. When you purchase a Ridge Ramp, you’ll get one length of joist. The template will do the rest of the work for you visually showing you where to mount each stud. This speeds up installation and provides peace of mind so you’re not re-building any part of the kit.
Premium Coping
Because of our “local only” model, we won’t cut the coping into awkward segments to fit a pallet. If you buy a 12’ wide mini ramp, you’ll get a 12’ piece of coping 2” schedule 40 (over ⅛” thick steel side wall). We’ve also optimized how to mount the coping so it's simple and secure. No more mid-grind coping wobbles here! Plus, it’s all galvanized so rust will be a thing of the past.
Comprehensive Instructions
Our founders grew up taking things apart, building ramps, Legos, IKEA furniture, and of course, skating. During that time, they learned what works and what doesn’t when it comes to assembly instructions. Every kit sold comes with digitally accessible instructions—we want to save the trees for more ramps. Each step is clear and we’ll either have an associated video or GIF of what you need to do. We also constantly update our instructions based on customer feedback. If there is a more challenging step, we’ll add notes about what to keep an eye out for. Overall, we want the process to be as SIMPLE and FUN as possible. Best of all, the only tools you’ll need are some safety glasses and a drill/driver for installing the included screws.
More than just a Kit Company.
Whether you're looking to get a grind box or a mini ramp or a full-on decked-out Custom RIDGE Ramp, we’re here to tell you it will be so much more than “a ramp.” You are buying an experience that keeps on giving. It’s a chance to build a community with like-minded friends and family. It’s an opportunity to learn and progress a skill.
Skating changes the way you look at the world. It’s a constant metaphor. Heck, skate spots are often called obstacles, and as a rider, you work to overcome them—to conquer them. With each conquest, you learn and grow physically, mentally, and emotionally. There are few better activities whether you’re getting a RIDGE Ramp for your kid or you’re picking up a board, skates, or scooter after a twenty-year hiatus. No matter what your objective is, we want to hear it. We’ll do whatever we can to support you.
Why RIDGE Ramps
RIDGE Ramps are better by design—period. What most companies throw out as waste, we leverage to make for not only an easier, more consistent assembly experience but a better ride. Also, Mother Nature worked hard to grow the material so we work hard to maximize its use.
HOW IT WORKS
Most ramp kit websites look like a never-ending Chinese menu. We’ve opted for the more In-and-Out approach, breaking every product into categories. If you’re looking for a mini ramp, you’ll click on Mini Ramps. From there, you can select the height, width, and add-ons like deeper decks, extensions, etc.
One thing to keep in mind is that all of our products come standard with GatorSkin™, a premium composite designed specifically for skating. It can withstand the elements and abuse that come standard with skating. We use it on every skate surface, including ramp decks for a more consistent look and ride.

Transparency Pricing
We get it, ramp kits are expensive. We remember the days of being able to build a DIY ramp for what seemed like lemonade-stand money. While the price of everything has shot up over the years, lumber has especially seen the economic effects of scarcity and inflation.
We’re here to provide you peace of mind with our transparent pricing. Here’s how we price our kits:
Current Lumber Costs + Overhead + 10% Growth = Ridge Ramp cost
-
Current Lumber Costs
If you see our kit cost fluctuating, it’s because the cost of the raw materials is also being affected. If costs go up, so do our prices. But if the cost goes down, so do our prices! It’s that simple. We know you work hard for your money and we honor that by never looking to pull one over on our customers.
-
Overhead
We run an efficient shop in every way possible from focused staff and contractors to machinery and equipment. This is our passion. Our team loves what they do and we want to share it with as many people as possible. We’ve eliminated 3rd party vendors wherever possible to cut down on unnecessary markups.
-
10% Growth
We set aside money from each kit to go towards our growth. This allows us to add more products to our line, hire more crew, and expand where we can deliver our ramp kits. We're skater owned but business minded. We love and value our customers and look forward to building Ridge Ramps together.
